Property Ownership in Thailand
This is a very brief explanation regarding owning property in Thailand. A foreign national may own a Condominium in his own name providing:
1/ You have a Non-Immigrant Visa (NOT a tourist visa)
2/ The funds used to purchase the property comes from abroad
3/ You have a Thai bank account (you will require a TorTor Sam)
4/ You can own a car or motorbike (but you will need a Non-Immigrant visa)
5/ You can own a condo in your own name
6/ You can own a house but NOT the land.
Foreign nationals cannot own land in Thailand. If you wish to buy a house, there are ways to secure your (land) investment but you will need to seek the advice of a good lawyer.
